Wormholes

Wormholes are one of the universe’s biggest mysteries. So far, no one has ever seen one and there is no proof wormholes exist. But, scientists think that wormholes do exist. For now, wormholes only exist on paper and in math equations. But what is a wormhole?

A wormhole is a tear in space that can take you into a different part of the universe. To make it easier to understand, I’ll call it an inter-dimensional portal. For example, a wormhole can connect Germany and India together, so when you go through the wormhole, you can go to the other side of the wormhole. It could connect earth and Mars. It could connect the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy.

But, for a wormhole to exist, something has to be connecting the two sides. Gravity will always try to close the wormholes. Some say that some supermassive black holes are wormholes and they can connect to parallel dimensions, but that can’t be true, because black holes are all about gravity.

Even if it was true, the nearest black hole is many, many light years away, and the supermassive black hole at the centre of the galaxy is hundreds, if not thousands of light years away. So, we, at the present, have no hope of getting there. Maybe string theory’s cosmic string could hold wormholes open, but, then again, there isn’t any proof at all that wormholes exist.

As the picture shows, wormholes can help us travel even faster than light, which is the fastest thing in the universe. Wormholes could make us take control of many planets across the galaxy, and make us unstoppable. Though currently, as of now, we are no closer to finding a wormhole than we are close to making a wormhole. But, we didn’t know black holes existed 100 years ago. Anything can happen.
