Hey There

This is a section where you can read about my life stories

My Trip To Dubai

My trip in Dubai was a huge adventure. I liked it a lot, even the bad parts, and I know that I will not forget this trip in a long, long time, maybe even till I die. It was a very memorable trip.

            DAY 1

My dad and I landed in Dubai at around 11:30 in the afternoon. I had woken up at four in the morning, but, surprisingly, I was not very sleepy. We settled in our hotel at around 12:30. My dad went to bed for a while, and I just stayed there, playing games. After he woke up, we went to the mall right beside our hotel. It was named Mall of the Emirates. We went there at around four, and my dad said we should spend the day there. After catching a bite to eat (pizza), we went to the supermarket and bought a converter, so that the charger could fit in the socket. Then, I wanted to watch a movie, so we went to the cinema, and bought tickets. Keep in mind that my dad and I had not watched a movie in the cinema in three years. The movie we watched was Godzilla x Kong. It was good, but I think we would have enjoyed it better if we had watched the many other Kong/Godzilla movies. After that, we ate dinner, went back to the hotel, and slept.

            DAY 2

Day two began with us boarding a taxi and going to the famous Dubai Mall. Again, we had some breakfast before leaving, and it was very filling. We went to the aquarium first. It was huge. They had so many types of fishes, including stingrays, and even sharks. There were fishes as small as pebbles, and as large as me. There were many beautiful coral reefs, and the top was ten feet tall. Afterwards, we went to the second floor to continue the aquarium. It was very green, with fake trees, and fish swimming. We saw a couple of animals, and even a tarantula and a couple of snakes. The biggest animal, by far, were the crocodiles. The entire experience was marvellous. After that, we went and watched another movie called Dune 2. I did not understand most of it, as I had not watched Dune 1. Then, we went to the hotel and ate dinner.

      DAY 3

On day three, we started of the day slowly. At around 1 o’clock, we left to have lunch at my dad’s friend Faraz Uncle’s place. He had three kids, Aalia, Abdullah, and Hannah. I had a nice time there. After lunch, my dad’s other friend, Savio Uncle, took us for a drive around Dubai. We saw the beach, drve up a hill and clicked some pictures. When we got back home, it was 10:30 in the night.

  DAY 4

On day four, we did not do anything out of the ordinary till 2:00. At 2:30, we went on a drive to the desert. When we got to the safari place, we got a driver and we went on a very bumpy safari ride. We drove up and down the dunes. Unfortunately, my dad and I were in the back seat; some other family was in the front. Honestly, I have no clue how the driver kept his sense of direction in the desert. After that, we went to this huge camp. We ate dinner there and there were three talent shows. The first was okay, the second was a little better, but the third was phenomenal. It was about this guy in a black costume lighting fire on objects and swinging them around like a sword or a whip. He even had kerosene or gasoline in his mouth, and he blew fire from his mouth outside. When we got home, it was pretty late.

  DAY 5

On day five, we were supposed to drive to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. Unfortunately, we could not. Torrential rains were pouring down in all of the UAE, making a long drive like this impossible. Roger Uncle, my dad’s other friend, who had driven down from Abu Dhabi, was stuck at the hotel. Unfortunately, the lifts were not working. My dad and Roger Uncle went to the mall of the Emirates. I did not go with them because I did not want to be in the rain. When Roger Uncle left, we tried to go down and order dinner, but the entire ground floor was flooded. In shin deep water, I had to order dinner. We went to sleep.

  DAY 6

This was supposed to be the last day. When we woke up, we discovered there was not electricity, or water, in the hotel. We got up, and got ready to go. Then, however, we realized that they had still not cleared up the water. When we left, we went to the Mall of the Emirates, walking in knee deep water, with two suitcases, and two carry-on bags. When we got there, we realized that there was no buses, no taxi and no metro, which meant that there was no way to get to the airport.

My dad and I went to the metro station, bought tickets, and waited there. The metro did not start up, so we were stuck there. I was pretty hungry, so I had a burger. Then, we left, waded in knee deep water to the hotel called Sheraton. We used this as a place of refuge. The hotel was full. After a couple of hours there, the flight had been delayed to 3:30 in the afternoon. Then it was delayed to midnight. We left to another hotel called DoubleTree hotel, but it was full. At that time, we were exhausted and a little nervous. Then, my dad cancelled the flight, and he made a call to his old boss, named Ravi Uncle. He was very kind, and let us spend the night there. But, the traffic had increased tenfold, and we took five hours to get to his place.

    DAY 7

When we got up, we quickly showered, ate breakfast and left. We were headed to Faraz Uncle’s place. He had invited us to stay the night there. He was really kind to us. Then, in the afternoon, my dad told me there were no flights to Bangalore and we would be flying to Mumbai. Mumbai was where I was raised, so I wanted to spend the night at my best friend’s place. The flight would be two days later. At night, with Faraz Uncle and his family, we went to a board game café. I had a lot of fun there. The games we played were interesting. It was pretty awesome. We had some dinner, played a couple of board games and went back home. I had won some games, and lost some games. I liked all the games.

  DAY 8

Day eight was mostly average. Alia and Abdullah kept asking me to play outside with them. I had really become good friends with them. Some relatives of theirs had come over in the night. Abdullah beat everyone in air hockey, and I had a talk with somebody about ads. We went to sleep pretty late in the night.

  DAY 9 & 10

On Day nine, we had a nice breakfast, said goodbye to everyone and went to the airport. Overall, I was very happy about my stay in Faraz Uncle’s house. We took a flight to Mumbai. The ironic thing was that there actually had been a flight going to Bangalore on that day. When we landed in Mumbai, I met my best friend Dhruv, who had been my friend for 9 years so far. (I’m 12…). We talked late into the night. On day ten, we visited my old apartment, took some pictures and visited a café called boba and mocha. Then, we went to the airport, said our goodbyes and took the flight to Bangalore.
