My mother is a wonderful person. Her name is Shirley Roberts. She was born on October 16th, 1979, in Delhi. She turned 45 years old today. This blog post is dedicated to her.
How do I describe my mom? To really know her, you have to meet her. She is a smart, bold, tough person, who has never gotten embarrassed in her life, and can find a solution to everything, given time and good tools. My mom had 2 older brothers, so maybe that was the reason of her boldness. She didn't have a lot of friends around her house, but had a lot of friends in school.
In school, she was the topper in every subject, but never missed a chance to play a sport, or have fun. She, like all her family, could paint very well. My mom was a tomboy at heart, but she could beat many boys at most things. She became Sports Captain easily, but then, not long after, gave it up to become the Head Girl in Air Force School, and got into a good college.
College was the best part of her life so far, as she was in a hostel, made a lot of friends (I got to see them, later on) and enjoyed her time away from home. The only thing that she hated about the hostel was the food. The food was horrible. When she got home, she could completely appreciate her mother's cooking. All in all, college was a great time in her life. It was mainly the time she got to relax around her friends. I guess when you live in the place you make a lot of good friends.
Her first job was in the HDFC Bank, as her favorite subject was Mathematics and she was brilliant at it. She worked for a good couple of years in the bank, and in the end, when she quit, was thrown a party. She also met my dad, Vishal Jacob, in these years, who was working in the advertising industry. They met, along with my dad's two other friends, Seema and Suraj.
My Mom and dad got married on July 5th, 2008. I was born on June 7th, 2011. She used to come with al sorts of funny ways to keep me entertained- when I was young, the louder I cried, the softer she sung, so that I had to keep quiet to listen to the song. She taught me addition playing cricket, as soon as I could hold a bat. She decided that on long walks, the person in front could do whatever they wanted, and she made me excited for the first day of school.
In 2019, just before the pandemic, she sustained a terrible injury. She consulted many doctors and found out that she had sustained a ligament tear. She couldn't play any sports with me for fear of making the injury worse. To this day, she still has this injury, and she is doing what she can to stop it. After the pandemic ended, she started going to some doctors and asking hat she should do. They suggested physiotherapy, which is like therapy for the human body. Her knee is much better now. I am positive it will heal soon.
This blog post is for my mother, and I very much hope she liked it. I love her.
